Paul was last seen on July 21, 2024 when he was traveling from California to Washington. His vehicle broke down in Chemult, Oregon on the Dalles-California Highway portion of US 97. He walked 30 to 60 minutes to the nearest gas station. He texted his niece that someone was giving him a ride from the Pilot Fuel Station back to his vehicle. His vehicle was later found on July 26, 2024, on a forest road north of Chemult, Oregon.
