On January 9, 2025, he spoke to a family member via telephone, stating he would be staying at a hotel for a couple of days before traveling to Chicago to be with family. Family in Chicago has not heard from him since. On February 6, 2025, a missing person report was filed. A family member reported receiving a 'Telegram' message from Dace, but his whereabouts remain unconfirmed. Dace's cell phone was turned into a Verizon Store in Chicago by someone who found it near the train station.
