On the evening of July 11, 1993, Andrea was last seen near her family’s home on Southeast Ebbtide Avenue in Port Salerno, Florida. Her mother’s boyfriend had given her permission to walk to a friend’s house on Flounder Avenue and visit the Port Salerno Grocery Store on Salerno Road. Witnesses saw Andrea walking toward the store, where she purchased chips and candy before leaving. She never arrived at her friend’s house and was never seen again. Convicted child molester Claude Davis initially told police he saw Andrea being forced into a maroon four-door Oldsmobile by several men but later changed his story, claiming she died in a fall accident and that he disposed of her body. He was arrested for false imprisonment, but charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. In 2012, Chester Duane Price was charged with Andrea’s kidnapping and murder after Davis testified that they abducted and killed her. However, Davis died in 2013 before trial, weakening the case. Price later accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter and child kidnapping.
