Beverly Potts

Missing From: Cleveland, Ohio
Missing Since: August 24, 1951
Age: 10
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 90

Summary:

Beverly left her home on Linnet Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, with a friend on the evening of August 24, 1951, to attend the Showagon, an annual summer festival at Halloran Park, just an eighth of a mile away. Her friend had to be home by dark and left at 8:40 p.m., but Beverly stayed behind to watch the rest of the show. The last confirmed sighting of her was at 9:30 p.m., when a 13-year-old acquaintance saw her walking across the park toward home. She was last seen about 150 feet from the intersection of Linnet Avenue and West 117th Street. When she failed to return, her parents reported her missing at 10:30 p.m. Despite an extensive search and numerous leads, no trace of her was ever found. Investigators believe she was likely abducted, possibly by someone she knew, as she was shy and fearful of strangers. Beverly’s parents passed away without ever learning what happened to her, and her older sister continued searching until her death in 2006. More than seven decades later, Beverly remains missing, and foul play is strongly suspected.
