Moeser had been living with her mother and stepfather, Ron Wilkerson, in Clarmin for about six months when, on April 13, she left a note saying she was going for a walk. She never returned. It was discovered that she took one of Ron's handguns. Her family has shared that she was facing some mental health challenges.
