Carla Vicentini was last seen during the early morning hours of February 10, 2006, at the Adega Bar and Grill in the 100 block of Ferry Street, located in the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey. The 22-year-old Brazilian exchange student had arrived in the United States less than a month earlier as part of a cultural exchange program. Vicentini was seen leaving the bar with an unidentified man described as approximately 5β8β tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a stocky build, blue eyes, short salt-and-pepper hair, and an unshaven beard. His first name may have been Antonio, but his identity remains unknown. Before leaving, Vicentini told a friend she was going to the manβs car to look at a photo and talk. Although her wallet, passport, and jacket were later found in her nearby residence on Ferry Street, she has not been seen or heard from since. The man she was last seen with is considered a person of interest in her disappearance.
