Casi Pogue was last seen on July 5, 2020, in Greenville, South Carolina. She had been staying with the parents of her friend Nathan Brown. That weekend, Pogue showed signs of distress leading to two hospitalizations. On July 4, she was admitted to the hospital but discharged later that day and picked up by Brown. On July 5, a neighbor saw Pogue attempting to climb out of a window at the Browns’ residence using a bedsheet. Later found bruised and bleeding, she was taken by ambulance to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she appeared to be hallucinating. After her discharge that evening, surveillance footage captured her leaving the hospital on foot. She briefly spoke to the driver of a blue van before walking toward Doctors Drive and out of view. She has not been seen since. Initially, Brown told police that he did not know where Pogue’s phone was. However, his mother later informed authorities that they had the phone. Brown admitted he had lied, explaining that he wanted to hide photos on the phone showing him smoking marijuana. He and his mother subsequently turned the phone over to the police.
