David Emerson Jr. was last in contact with his mother by phone on December 24, 2014. That same day, he attended his cousin’s birthday party and later left with one of his roommates to return home. After approximately two weeks without communication, Emerson Jr.’s mother visited his residence. His roommates informed her that he had moved to Lubbock, Texas; however, he has not been located there or elsewhere. He is an African-American male with black hair and brown eyes, and he may style his hair in cornrows. He has pierced ears, a tongue piercing, a tattoo of his nickname, “DEE,” on his shoulder, and a scar from a metal medical implant near his right eye. He also wears eyeglasses for reading.
