Summary

Kallenberger was last seen on March 15, 2016, in Franklin, Indiana. He lived in Lafayette, Indiana, and was en route to Florida to visit his sister, Kimberly J. Hanson. The last known contact occurred at 3:20 p.m. when a state trooper encountered him on Interstate 65 near the 86-mile marker in Johnson County. Kallenberger’s motorcycle had broken down, and although the trooper offered help, Kallenberger declined, stating assistance was on the way. He had contacted his sister to arrange for a friend in Lafayette to pick him up. The trooper left, and when authorities returned later, Kallenberger’s motorcycle was still on the roadside, but he was gone. The bike was towed. Hanson believes Kallenberger would not have left his valuable motorcycle behind. In his last voicemail to her, Kallenberger sounded distressed, mentioning feeling “set up" and referring to a gun. The message ended abruptly with him saying, “Oh, my God. Kim, I’ll have to call you back.” The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, and his family fears for his safety.
