The last known contact was a phone conversation with his mother while standing outside the Fayetteville Police Department. He believed someone was following him. He was told they were closed and told his mom he would go back to the hospital. McNeill has some mental health issues brought on by the death of his 16 year old brother, who was shot during a home invasion in 2021. He believed the same people were after him. McNeill had gone to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center earlier because he was having a mental health crisis.
