Heather was last seen on April 4, 2003, at White Pine Middle School in Ely, Nevada. She was suspended that day after cigarettes were found in her possession. Following her suspension, she did not return home and has not been heard from since. Authorities initially believed she left voluntarily. At the time of her disappearance, Heather lived with her father and stepmother in Ely. Her mother, older brother, and maternal grandparents resided in Oklahoma, and Heather often expressed that she missed her family there. However, her family in Oklahoma and in Ely have not heard from her since she went missing. Heather’s family fears she may have encountered harm after running away, as it is highly uncharacteristic of her to remain out of touch for such an extended period. Heather is described as having red hair, hazel eyes, and a small birthmark on her right hip. Her ears protrude slightly, and she may wear eyeglasses.
