He was supposed to be meeting his family in the nearby Garden Peninsula, situated between Big Bay de Noc and Lake Michigan. His parents stated that Ian struggled with addiction since he was a teenager but was at a good place in his life when he went missing. Ian's parents and children have not stopped looking for answers.
