Jackie disappeared after playing outside with her step-siblings and other children in the front yard of their home on the 3100 block of Southeast Colfax in Topeka, Kansas. As the other children went inside, leaving her alone, her family began preparing to visit a house they were building south of Topeka and realized she was missing. The last sighting of Jackie was near the intersection of Southeast 31st and Bryant, about one block east of her home, where she was seen walking away from Colfax and Golf Park. At that time, a man was reportedly following her. She has not been seen or heard from since. Authorities did not initiate a search for Jackie until four hours after her disappearance was reported. That evening, police apprehended a local man who matched the description of the individual seen following Jackie. After extensive questioning, the man was released without charges. Authorities believe she was most likely abducted, but few clues are available in her case.
