He mentioned that he accidentally left his backpack by the side of the road, and when he went back for it, it was gone, along with his ID, money, maps, etc. That was on April 8th, the last time his family heard from him, and he was near Baltimore, MD. Phone pings have failed, and he did not make it to Surf City. He was bicycling from PA to FL, with a planned stop in Surf City, NC.
