Smith was last seen on June 5, 2015, at her sister’s high school graduation party held at her family’s home in the 600 block of Hamilton Avenue in Farrell, Pennsylvania. At the time, she was residing in Warren, Ohio. Approximately one month after Smith’s disappearance, eighteen-year-old Alesha Bell also went missing from Warren. In July 2015, Bell’s bone fragments were discovered in a fire pit on the property of James Elmer Brooks, a suspected drug trafficker who had admitted to operating an escort service. Smith’s family has confirmed that she was acquainted with Brooks and believe he may have been involved in her disappearance. They fear she may have been a victim of human trafficking. Smith’s case remains unsolved.
