Summary:

Jennifer Lancaster disappeared from Topeka, Kansas, along with her infant daughters, Sidney and Monique, on May 12, 2000. That evening, she left the apartment she shared with her mother, Vicki, her sister, and her daughters, carrying a trash bag filled with quilts and baby clothes. She told Vicki she was going to launder them, despite having a washer and dryer at home. Her 1994 Jeep Cherokee was later found abandoned in the parking lot of a small apartment complex on Southeast Swygart. The vehicle had been stripped of all personal belongings, including both infant car seats and Jennifer’s keys. In the days following her disappearance, Vicki noticed that more of Jennifer’s belongings were missing, suggesting she had been quietly removing her things over time. However, she left behind her cell phone. Weeks later, Vicki received an unexpected letter from a Steak ’n Shake restaurant in St. Louis, Missouri, addressed to Jennifer. The letter thanked her for filling out a comment card about her dining experience. Jennifer, Sidney, and Monique have never been seen again.
