Wilson was last seen in Derby, Kansas, on September 1, 2002. She had an argument with her roommate at Jezebel’s, the club where she worked as an exotic dancer. The argument continued after they returned home. According to Wilson’s roommate, Wilson became visibly upset and left the residence in tears. Wilson’s personal belongings, including her vehicle, were left behind, as well as her dog, whom she typically took with her everywhere. At first, Wilson’s mother was not overly concerned, as it was not unusual for her to go periods without contact. However, after an extended period of time, she attempted to reconnect with Wilson’s roommate, she learned the roommate had taken a job at another club and was using Wilson’s Social Security number. Investigators later found that Wilson’s roommate had given conflicting stories about her disappearance, including claims that she had moved to Kansas City, Missouri. The roomate also provided inconsistent explanations regarding Wilson’s dog, who disappeared sometime after Wilson. The roommate has not been named a suspect in the case.
