Adams was last seen in Jefferson, Georgia, on May 20, 2013. That day, he left home in his white 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. Later that day, his car was found abandoned in a pasture near a pond on Brockton Loop Road. His phone, wallet, and identification still inside. A neighbor reported the vehicle and an open fence on the property. On May 24, Adams’s shoes were found along the pond’s banks, a few hundred yards from his car. Authorities searched the area with cadaver dogs and drained the pond but found no further evidence. Phone records showed Adams called one man five times that day, but the individual denied speaking to him and refused to cooperate. Another man admitted to talking to Adams at 9:00 a.m. but wouldn’t disclose their conversation. Two weeks before his disappearance, Adams completed a six-week drug rehabilitation program in Battle Creek, Michigan. His family said he had no history of leaving without warning.
