Summary:

Bosta was last seen on May 30, 2015, leaving the Food Lion store at North Broad Street and Coke Avenue in Edenton, North Carolina. She had gone out with friends that evening but never returned home. Approximately one week later, her red 1997 Lincoln Continental was discovered abandoned in the back parking lot of Gaslight Square Shopping Center in Edenton. The vehicle was locked, and the keys were missing. Thomas Edward White Sr. has been identified as a person of interest in Bosta’s disappearance. The day after she went missing, he used a Discover credit card that Bosta had in her possession on the night of her disappearance to purchase cigarettes at a Food Lion store in Edenton. As a result, he was charged with obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense. In January 2018, White pleaded guilty to obtaining property by false pretense. He was sentenced to six weekends in jail, 36 months of probation and parole, and ordered to pay $600 in restitution. Bosta’s disappearance is considered highly uncharacteristic, and foul play is suspected.
