Summary:

Kathryn Adam was last seen at approximately 4:30 a.m. on April 29, 1993, at the Kwik Shop convenience store located in the 1700 block of West Crawford Street in Salina, Kansas. At the time, she was driving a white, full-sized Ford van with β€œShe has Legg’s” written in blue lettering on the sides. The following day, the van was discovered abandoned at Russell’s Restaurant, located at 600 Westport Boulevard. The restaurant was closed for remodeling at the time. The van was covered in mud on the exterior, with the interior soaked in blood. Investigators noted that the van had been driven an unaccounted 60 miles. A large amount of blood and bullet fragments were discovered at a storage unit in west Salina, where Kathryn, a salesperson for Legg’s hosiery, picked up stock. Investigators believe that Kathryn may have been attacked while inside the storage unit, potentially interrupted while loading merchandise into her van. The door of the unit was left open, indicating a possible struggle. It is believed that the person responsible for her disappearance was familiar with Kathryn and her daily routine.
