King Walker, who was two years old at the time of his disappearance, and his aunt, Diamond Bynum, disappeared from Gary, Indiana, on July 25, 2015. At the time, King lived with his mother but spent weekends visiting his grandparents and aunt, while Bynum lived with her father and stepmother. Bynum has Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic condition characterized by intellectual disabilities, short stature, and an uncontrollable feeling of hunger. She has the mental capacity of a five- to seven-year-old and struggles to communicate with others. The pair were last seen at Bynumβs home in the 500 block of Matthews Street around 10:20 a.m. Bynumβs stepmother took a nap and woke at 11:00 a.m. to find them gone. Itβs believed they left on foot. While Bynum occasionally wandered off in search of food, the family had recently gone grocery shopping. Bynumβs family had recently moved to Gary, and she was still unfamiliar with the area. There were unconfirmed sightings of Bynum and King in Gary, Hammond, and Chicago, but no solid leads have been found.
