Glossett was last seen in Van Wert, Ohio, in late June 2016. His father last spoke to him on June 16, his birthday. On June 24, Glossett was released from jail on bond, posted by a friend, Dale H. Gear. He spent the night at Gear’s residence in Middle Point, Ohio, before Gear dropped him off in Van Wert the following morning. Glossett has not been seen or heard from since, and his father reported him missing on July 21. At the time of his disappearance, Glossett did not drive and had left his cellphone behind. In August 2021, Gear was charged with tampering with evidence in connection to Glossett’s case. Prosecutors alleged that on June 24, 2016, he “altered, destroyed, concealed, or removed” unspecified evidence and provided false statements to investigators. A search of Gear’s property revealed multiple suspected blood samples in his home, garage, and Ford F-250 pickup truck. Three of the samples were confirmed to be Glossett’s. Authorities determined the amount of blood found was inconsistent with a minor injury and suspected foul play in his disappearance.
