Fleischmann was last seen at the Buckhead Saloon in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina on November 9, 2007. He had gone there with friends after attending a comedy show. Kyle and his friend Daniel, had a few drinks at Buckhead Saloon, but Daniel had to work the next morning and decided to close out his tab around 1 a.m. Kyle said he was going to stay for a while. Video surveillance shows Kyle getting into an altercation with two to three men later on. Kyle left the bar shortly after, forgetting his coat and debit card. He left around 2:20 a.m., It was 30 degrees outside, he didn’t go back inside for either item. Later, Kyle was seen walking alone towards Fuel Pizza on a surveillance camera. Kyle had stopped in the pizza place and ordered two slices of pizza. After Kyle left the pizza place, he was never seen again. He did start making phone calls, the first being at 2:42 a.m. He made a total of eight phone calls in a short amount of time—he tried to call his father's business phone, his roommate, his sister, and Daniel, but he didn’t leave any voicemails.
