Case Information
LaQuanta was last seen by relatives in Montgomery, Alabama at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 7, 2003. She left home in a dark green four-door car, possibly a Ford Taurus or Chevrolet Caprice. The driver took LaQuanta to her mother's home three miles away, where she asked for a jacket. Her brother, who answered the door, asked who was driving the car. He has never seen it before. LaQuanta told her brother the driver was a friend she met from around the neighborhood. She got back in the car and never returned home. Some time after her disappearance, her mother got a message on her telephone answering machine which she believes was from LaQuanta. The message wasn't clear. The caller said either "leave me alone" or "let me go home." A man's voice in the background said LaQuanta’s name, then the call disconnected. It has never been traced. There was a lead after LaQuanta’s name was used on an apartment rental in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she had graduated high school. Her mother traveled to Stone Mountain, spoke to the resident of the apartment and showed him a photo of LaQuanta. The resident said LaQuanta had lived down the hall and had asked to use his phone recently after getting into some kind of argument, but that she had moved out. It's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning and her case remains unsolved.
