Palmer was last seen in Fall River Mills, California, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 20, 2018. She left her residence in the 23000 block of Cassel Fall River Road to take a walk in the woods with a dog named Lucy. She was expected to return within fifteen minutes, but when she did not, her husband of twenty years began searching for her after twenty-five minutes. After forty-five minutes, he contacted neighbors to ask if they had seen her, and two hours later, he notified law enforcement. Lucy, the dog she had been caring for on behalf of her stepdaughter, who lived twenty miles away, returned alone and unharmed a few days after Palmerโs disappearance. Palmerโs loved ones reported that she had been exhibiting early signs of dementia at the time she went missing. Her case remains unsolved.
