Hembree was last seen leaving her home in Smyer, Texas, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on February 26, 2013. She was driving her red two-door 1999 Saturn to a friend’s house in Lubbock, Texas, but never arrived. Her cellular phone was used a few hours after her disappearance, but she has not been heard from since. Three days later, authorities discovered Michael Todd Ramsey in possession of Hembree’s car. Hembree had known Ramsey for several months prior to her disappearance, and he is the last known person to have been with her. Ramsey is considered a person of interest in the case. While he has a criminal record, it does not include any violent offenses. He was incarcerated on unrelated charges after Hembree’s disappearance. Hembree is described as having brown hair and green eyes. She has several distinguishing tattoos: the Houston Astros logo on her neck, a dark blue butterfly on the back of her right shoulder, a biohazard symbol on her left ankle, and a Christian fish symbol on her right foot.
