Boelter was last seen on December 31, 2014, after leaving work at the IGA grocery store in Bloomfield, Indiana, around 6:00 p.m. She was seen getting into a silver, beige, or gold 2009-2011 Mercury Milan. The car, driven by a middle-aged Caucasian man, was headed toward Boelter’s apartment. The driver, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, said Boelter planned to attend his house party but asked to be dropped off at a closed-down pizza restaurant, saying she did not want him to know where she lived. She has not been heard from since. Her purse, phone, and keys were missing from her apartment, but the rest of her belongings were undisturbed. Six weeks after her disappearance, Boelter’s ex-boyfriend, Douglas “D.J.” Lockhart, the father of her son, was fatally stabbed. Authorities stated there is no evidence linking his death to her disappearance. The man who gave Boelter a ride that night has prior convictions for abduction and rape. Another man in her apartment building had previously been convicted of murder. Despite this, no suspects have been named, and Boelter’s case remains unsolved.
