Megan Foglesong, a young woman from Alden, Kansas, disappeared in late November or early December 2015. Her last known contact was on November 30, when she replied to a friend on Facebook, stating she was at her boyfriend David Maddenβs house. Madden reported to authorities the next day that he and Foglesong argued over alleged theft, after which she supposedly left. A week later, Foglesongβs phone sent a text to a friend saying, βIβm fine,β though it remains unclear if she wrote it. In February 2017, Madden lead police on a high-speed chase. He was charged with aggravated assault, and sentenced to probation. On April 29, 2019, David Madden was involved in a shootout with police in his father's home after being pulled over for a warrant. During these events, David would shoot the Rice County Sheriff, Undersheriff and killing his father before ultimately ending his own life. Foglesong's disappearance remains unsolved.
