Summary

Michael Golub was last seen in Stanton County, Kansas, on May 20, 2005, around 6:00 p.m., after leaving his job at Kramer Harvesting. He was supposed to pick up his five-year-old son from the home of his ex-girlfriend, Shannon Floyd. Two days later, his gold and brown Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was found abandoned on a remote road in Grant County, Kansas. In 2006, Shannon Floyd and her husband, Chad Floyd, were charged with Michael’s murder. Authorities believe Michael was shot at their home the night he disappeared. His blood was found on their front porch, and the couple had purchased a gun that same day. Michael and Shannon often clashed over custody and child support, and Chad reportedly offered Michael $50,000 to drop his custody case. Despite two trials in 2007 and 2008, neither jury could reach a verdict, and the charges were dismissed. The case remains unsolved, though charges could be refiled if new evidence emerges.
