Melancon was last seen on Savoie Lane in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, on March 29, 2022, and has not been heard from since. On April 22, his vehicle, a dark burgundy 2009 Honda Accord, was found abandoned on State Route 975, near Highway 190 in the Krotz Springs area of Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. Investigators discovered that an unidentified individual used Melancon’s credit card at a McDonald’s and a gas station around the time of his disappearance. Authorities believe this person may be connected to his case. According to Melancon’s father, his son appeared to be struggling with depression during their last interaction. Although his father offered to help him seek support, Melancon declined and left. It is out of character for him to disappear without notifying or staying in contact with his family.
