Summary

Pamela Hobley was last seen with Patricia Spencer in Oscoda, Michigan, on October 31, 1969, the day of their high school’s homecoming football game. Although the two girls knew each other, they weren’t particularly close friends. They had planned to attend the game and a Halloween party that evening. After possibly skipping their afternoon classes, the girls were walking together along River Road, heading towards the business district, when a passing motorist offered them a ride to a gas station at the intersection of River Road and Interstate 23. That was the last time they were seen. The motorist was investigated but cleared of any involvement. At the time of their disappearance, neither girl was carrying a purse or identification. Authorities initially suspected they might have run away, potentially to the Flint area, but as weeks passed with no contact, that theory was reconsidered.
