Roach was last seen near Coffee Road and Corey Road in Walhalla, South Carolina, on February 5, 2019. She has not been heard from since. Following her disappearance, her phone was turned off, and her social media accounts became inactive. Nearly a year later, authorities discovered some of her clothing and jewelry along Tunnel Road. Her family identified several items as ones she frequently wore. In April 2021, Kevin Wayne “Boston” Maler was named a person of interest after a social media video surfaced in which one individual claimed Maler had made disturbing statements about Roach’s fate. In September 2022, multiple arrests were made in connection with the case. Shianna Jade Turner was charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly withholding evidence, and Markus Vandell Walters was charged with perjury for making false statements regarding knowledge of a crime. That same month, Maler was charged with the 2019 kidnapping and murder of Kevin Kyle Craig—initially believed to be an accidental death but later considered a possible cover-up related to Roach’s disappearance.
