On December 18, 2011, Phoenix Coldon, a 23-year-old woman, was last seen pulling out of the driveway of her family home in Spanish Lake, Missouri. Despite extensive search efforts, she and her vehicle disappeared without a trace—until her SUV was found, but she was nowhere in sight. The story took a dark turn when Coldon’s black 1998 Chevy Blazer was found, abandoned and running, in East St. Louis, a mere 25-minute drive from her home. It was still running and the driver's side door was open. There was no sign of Coldon.
