Akins was last seen in Columbus, Georgia. On January 1, he left his sister’s home to visit his girlfriend, who lived 35 miles away in Buena Vista, Georgia. According to his girlfriend’s stepfather, he provided Akins with a ride back to Columbus on January 7, dropping him off near his residence in the Elon Subdivision. However, Akins never arrived home and has not been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Akins left behind his wallet and most of his belongings, though his cellular phone was missing and has never been located. The last known activity from his phone occurred in Marion County, where his girlfriend resides. Akins did not have a vehicle at the time. His case remains unsolved.
