Brownโs home in Malden, Missouri, was damaged by a fire caused by a lightning strike, leaving him distraught. Throughout the day, friends and family stayed with him, offering him a place to stay, but he declined their offers. Later that evening, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Brown went to visit a friend who lived nearby. His friend was not home, but Brown spoke with his friendโs wife, telling her that his father had been โplaying tricks on him.โ (It is important to note that Brownโs father had been deceased for decades.) She advised him to return home and assured him that her husband would visit after he arrived. An hour later, Brownโs friend and his wife went to check on him at his home, but he was gone. His truck was found parked outside, unlocked, with his eyeglasses, medication, hat, and cigarettes inside. His cell phone was discovered on a chair by the patio. Brown has never been heard from again.
