Summary

Salena Tackett was reported missing by her husband, Tyrone N. Tackett, on January 30, 2003, just a week after their marriage in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Tyrone claimed that after falling asleep, he woke to find Salena gone, with her purse and car left behind. Salena had confided in family that she regretted marrying Tyrone and feared for her safety. She reportedly asked for an annulment on the day she disappeared. Afterward, Tyrone moved to Florida with their daughter. In 2004, Tyrone’s relative, Brian Tackett, accused him of stealing construction equipment over the years, claiming Salena knew about the thefts and that Tyrone had tried to have her killed to cover it up. When that plot failed, Brian alleged Tyrone killed Salena himself. In 2011, Tyrone was arrested for attempting to hire someone to kill Salena, but the charges were dropped in 2014 due to the statute of limitations. He was later charged with first-degree murder but pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter in 2014, accepting a three-year prison sentence. He claims he didn't harm Salena and only took the plea deal because it was in his best interest.
