Serving for 24 years in the Army, Master Sergeant Collins vanished in March 2021. His wife and kids never reported him missing. His brother ended up reporting him missing nine months later. Upon investigating, the police stated publicly, "The only interview the wife participated in, she gave false and misleading statements to investigators. Investigators attempted to obtain follow-up information from Shannon’s wife and children but were advised that they had obtained counsel and wished to speak to investigators no further. They have provided no information since to help further the investigation."
