Summary

Shannon Turner was last seen on December 4, 1997, after finishing her shift at Babe’s Showgirls West in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was waiting for a ride from her boyfriend, David Mays, but was never seen again. Her family became concerned when she failed to arrive in Wisconsin for Christmas. A few weeks later, her landlord contacted her family, stating that Shannon had not been seen in weeks. He also reported that her dog had been left outside unattended for days, an unusual and troubling sign. Mays, an enforcer for the Outlaws motorcycle gang, was later questioned but denied involvement. He served three years in prison on unrelated charges and refused a polygraph. In 2002, he was indicted on federal racketeering charges, including Turner’s murder, but was acquitted in 2004.
