She had just moved to Georgia from Champaign, Illinois a few months before she disappeared. Around the end of November 2020, her sister, Tina Harris, received a phone call. Sonie had been found in the back of someone's truck in Georgia. Police officers took her to a local hospital. Investigators discovered Sonie had been out in the woods for around two days. Toe brought Harris to where she had been staying to grab her things. Investigator Martinelli says victims may have been staying at that house. "Sonie knew the code to get into the house. Just like all the other girls did,” Martinelli said. Toe went to go live with Harris. On December 31st she left and never returned. Toe was last seen walking away from the apartment wearing a yellow dress. Her sister said she did not have her own car. On November 24, 2021, her father, Joseph, received a tip that Sonie was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
