Case Information
Resident of Tulsa Oklahoma, he enlisted in the marines in April 1975. He was stationed with the Marine Corps in Camp Pendleton California.
The case of Stephen Lee Murphy is unique in that he went AWOL from the Marines in 1976, captured and then escaped custody, told family members that he will be okay and that was last time anyone had heard from him. A missing persons report was not filed with the police until 2022. The family is still actively searching for him at present time.
