Terrence Woods Jr., a production assistant, vanished on October 5, 2018, near the Penman Mine in Orogrande, Idaho. He was working on the production of Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine, a reality TV series centered on gold mining. Although he was scheduled to remain with the crew until mid-November, Woods texted his parents shortly before his disappearance, stating he planned to cut his trip short and return home on October 10. Witnesses reported that Woods began exhibiting unusual behavior and, at one point, abruptly ran down a steep embankment. He was reported missing at 5:30 p.m. Despite extensive search efforts, no trace of Woods was ever found. Authorities ruled out foul play, but the circumstances of his disappearance are unclear.
