Tracey Barnes was last seen in Jackson County, Tennessee, in the early hours of August 11, 2019. On the evening of August 10, her fiancé arrived at her home and noticed she was behaving unusually—she appeared extremely paranoid and fearful that someone was after her. Around midnight, he encouraged her to lie down, but she refused, instead hiding behind furniture in distress. Needing rest before work the next day, he decided to return to his home. Shortly after he left, Tracey also departed, seemingly afraid to be alone. At 12:15 a.m., she arrived at a neighbor’s house barefoot and in a nightgown, still appearing distressed. The neighbor walked her home around 4:15 a.m., but she left again shortly after. By 4:30 a.m., she was at another neighbor’s house asking for cigarettes, despite having a full pack at home. At 5:00 a.m., Tracey’s brother, who was staying with her, let her into the house and urged her to get some rest. Eight minutes later, at 5:08 a.m., she placed a call to her grandchild’s mother, leaving a voicemail requesting a callback when no one answered. Tracey has not been seen or heard from since.
