Sifsof was last seen at Granite Creek Campgrounds, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, located at Mile 64 on Seward Highway, just outside of the resort town of Girdwood, on July 7, 2012. At the time of her disappearance, Sifsof was camping with her boyfriend. According to his account, after a disagreement, she became upset and walked away from the campsite around midnight, leaving behind her keys, identification, cellular phone, and other personal belongings. She did not return. Her boyfriend attempted to search for her but was unable to locate her, and he ultimately left the campground by noon the following day. Search efforts later uncovered Sifsof’s tank top and black sweatshirt in Six Mile Creek, which runs behind the campground, but no further signs of her were found.
