Summary:

In March 2007, Virginia Wood, a native of Chocowinity, North Carolina, traveled to Texas to visit her friend Kelly Gaskins and Gaskins’s boyfriend, Ervin Braxton Williams, during spring break. Gaskins and Williams had left North Carolina on December 26, 2006, telling their families they were heading to Brownsville, Texas, to look for work. The last known contact with Gaskins was on January 18, 2007, when she called her mother from Matamoros, Mexico, stating that she and Williams were working at the Fontana Inn. On March 10, 2007, Wood contacted a friend from Texas and mentioned plans for her and Gaskins to travel to Cancun, Mexico. Shortly after this call, both women, along with Williams, disappeared. Additionally, Wood’s black 2003 Nissan Sentra, bearing North Carolina license plate TTZ-6801, vanished and has never been recovered.
