Lembke had phoned in sick to work on Dec. 14 and did not report for work Dec. 15. Family members reported him missing the next day. It was initially speculated that Lembke, who lived alone with his two dogs, left on an unannounced vacation. His abandoned car was located in the parking lot of a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge in Wauwatosa two weeks later. His Left leg is shorter than his right leg; shoe lift used on left shoe. Possibly wearing blue cotton work pants or blue jeans and a western style button-down shirt.
